Serum 114

Bryan Plantenga Bass
Dave Boyd Drums
Jeff Sample Vocals
Ken Hanson Saxophone, Keyboards, Vocals
Matt Sommers Guitar

Active: 1985 - 1986
Location: Kokomo, Indiana

Notes: Taking their name from "A Clockwork Orange", some members of Chainsaw Lobotomy and A.S.S. joined forces and became Serum 114. Matt worked at the Cone Palace in Kokomo with Dave Boyd and asked him to play drums. Dave knew Ken and the quintet was formed. Chad Kebrdle also participated in the early days, playing distorted electric guitar. Serum recorded their first hilarious demo tape about sex and self hatred in Jeff's basement rec room. They played throughout Indiana (fashion shows, parties) and recorded a couple of live performances. One final demo completes the archive.

Hell in a Barn

Hell in a Barn

Year: 1986

The First Injection

The First Injection

Year: 1986

Notes: Serum's first demo tape was the result of many late nights creating, recording and making noise in Jeff's basement rec room (complete with hot tub and palm trees). Ranging from bossanova to punk, Serum 114's repertoire covered a lot of ground on this effort and left definitive versions of the ban...  More >>
